Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we handle personal data on this website. Data processed inside the Aakash Bookkeeper application is covered by the separate in-product privacy policy provided to account holders.

2. Server log files

Our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name, time of request and IP address. This data is not merged with other sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in secure, reliable delivery of this site. Retention: 30 days.

3. Hosting

This site is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place.

4. Google Tag Manager and analytics

Neither Google Tag Manager nor any analytics tag is loaded when you open this page. Nothing is stored on or read from your device, and no data is sent to Google, unless you press “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. If you choose “Essential only”, or simply ignore the banner, no tag is ever loaded.

If you consent, we load Google Tag Manager (container GTM-PC9DZGV3), which in turn loads Google Analytics 4 (property G-Z2E1LBS8ER). Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and processes your shortened IP address, pages viewed, time of visit, approximate location, referrer, device and browser type, in order to tell us how the site is used. We use this only in aggregate; we do not attempt to identify individual visitors and we do not use the data for advertising — advertising consent is never requested or granted on this site.

Legal basis: your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has recognised as providing an adequate level of protection. We apply Google Consent Mode, so Google’s tags receive a “denied” signal until you consent.

You can withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future, via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. In the Google Analytics property, event data is retained for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months.

5. Contacting us

If you contact us by email or phone, your enquiry and the details you provide are stored for the purpose of handling your request and for follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete this data once it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligation applies.

6. Fonts

The “DM Sans” typeface is served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts and no IP address is transmitted to Google in order to display this page.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21) under the GDPR. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority for a controller based in Essen is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestr. 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
